Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong interest in the optical field.
 
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists with patient care, including pre-testing and diagnostic testing
- Maintain electronic medical records accurately and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service at the front desk by scheduling appointments, invoicing, verifying insurance, processing payments and handling patient inquiries
- Assist with frame and lens selection and sales in the optical dispensary
- Support all patients in a friendly and compassionate manner
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment in the office
 
- Take proper measurements for all prescription glasses
 
- Help customers with basic frame repairs
 
- Assist in social media content creation
 
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to optometry
- Accuracy in record keeping and tasks in general
 
- Strong sales skills with a background in retail sales
- Knowledge of front desk operations in a medical office setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and provide excellent patient care
- Familiarity with optical products and services
 
Experienced applicants with an optical background are preferred. Training will be provided.
